Age
Age is not a factor in choosing a video game system for a child, and yet most parents tend to look at the suggested age on products. While some people may argue that a new PS3 is suitable for teens, it may or may not be.
Individually
Parents should take a long look at their child before choosing a game system. There are a lot of factors to consider. How sensitive is your child to certain things like violence in games?
Some children understand that a game is a game, while others take games a step ahead and begin to mimic themes into life.
Somehow video games can turn into reality for children as they begin to relate real life experiences to the games.
Making the Choice
Parents should take a look at the games available for a particular system before making the purchase. My children are between the ages of 5 and 8, but we found that the Nintendo GameCube is more suitable offering a variety of games for our children.
They are able to play classic non-violent games that we choose, and they love it!
Weve also purchased several plug-n-play games that connect directly to the television, some use batteries which costs but parents can often purchase an adapter to allow the game to be plugged into an electrical outlet to save money.
Think of what you want your child to be exposed to, what he or she can handle, the cost of the games, and always monitor the time your child spends playing games.
Research has shown that good ole fashioned playing outdoors is more beneficial than being cooped up playing video games, but video games are still fun that can be enjoyed … the right way.

I was watching CBS 60 Minutes and they had an article on Echo Boomers. A prominent professor and pediatrician was told by a fortune 500 executive that the thing that struck him most about the new generation coming into the workforce, was their lack of long term vision. He said that they treated business like a video game, where if they didn't see instant results, then it wasn't of interest. He also commented that today's young employees cannot proceed in a step wise fashion, cannot accomplish a task in a methodical way. As a retailer of educational toys I immediately drew a connection. The pediatrician noted that the echo boomers had been coddled by their parents, driven to soccer practice, provided with trophies for participating. He had observed that when left to play by themselves without adult organization, they were often lost.
I couldn't help but think of the Enron scandal, where earnings were fabricated to meet the expectations of the market. I know those involved in Enron are of an earlier generation, but are we teaching similar behaviour through video games.
Educational toys have always been a mainstay of my children's fun and games. We often use science kits and science toys as fun activities on a rainy day. My children are still impulsive, but they are also prepared to make sacrifices for something that excites them.
Educational toys may not be the solution to all the world's problems but I think they are a good place to start.

The best place to play free educational video games is on the internet. The internet could provide you a platform for educational learning which never happens before. Educational games have become an interesting and useful for the users. One of significant interests for many users is learning skills that can be applied in their workplace. One example of where this occurs is in the dental field. Many dental websites include online educational games that are both fun, informative, and catered towards user interests.
