The Importance of Educational Toys
By Anne Farrill
Educational toys are an absolute must for children. They learn through play from the time they are a few months old. The wider the range of play, the more experiences they come in contact with, the more they learn. Children begin learning when they see shapes, colors and movement and hear sounds. They progress to identification of numbers, letters and stimuli in their environment. When they learn the basics early it prepares them for their future in school and in life.
Educational toys not only start the learning process but are a valuable tool throughout any child's formative years. They should start very simple and progress to higher levels of difficulty.
I found in my years of teaching that children are more willing and it is easier for them to learn with the use of educational toys. They are no substitute for a parent's time spent with the child but can be used as a supplement give busy moms a little more time.
I learned a lot about using educational toys when I taught Special Education classes for grades K-5 for 10 years. Teaching these very special children was a challenge, they taught me as much as I taught them. Educational toys for all ages can be found at http://www.bfarrillbargains.com
