Help Your Child Play And Grow With The Educational Toys And Games

By Len Jacob

There can be basically two types of education, one is formal, the other informal education. Now, formal education will include entry to a school or any other educational institution. Informal education occurs outside school guided by people and resources outside the classroom.

Introduce educational toys and game to your child and voila, an informal learning ambience is created. Children are natural learners, so your task as a parent will be to provide them with toys that have the fun as well as the educational quotient. The ideal toys and games will help the all round development of your children. However, there are differences in the emotional and reasoning development of different children.

Remember that the educational toy and game should be compatible with the childs individual personality. As the children grow older, they require educational games and toys that are appropriate for their age. For instance, a child in the adolescent stage may be going through emotional turmoil, as a parent, you can engage your child into chess or sports. Informal education is a way to strengthen formal education.

Educational games for children at various stages of their development

A baby learns to experience taste, touch, smell, hearing and seeing right from infancy. Make use of this. Use the language games and for this you need to talk to your baby repetitively. The baby recognizes a particular word and learns to utter it.

As your baby gets older, you can gift them educational toys and games like crayons, blocks, hand puppets, mobiles, stacking toys, easy puzzles and more. All these toys help to develop spatial awareness, motor skills, recognition of different sounds and language skills, if you keep talking to the baby. No matter, what toys or games your baby is playing, make it a point to talk to your baby always. Just talk, talk and talk, it will be fun for your baby and simultaneously help in learning the language.

Maintain the fun element when teaching your baby. Be sure to clap and applaud when your baby points out to an object and calls it by its name; this further encourages your baby to learn and makes the entire learning process an enjoyable one. Therefore, never think that the childs playtime is merely a pass time, but make use of the opportunity for the better of your child.

Educational Toys For Toddlers

By Low Jeremy

Well, if you have, then Im sure that these five tips will be a big help to you in choosing the best toy to give — toys that are fun but still educational.

Tip number one is to be sure that you are buying a toy that really is for a toddler. Sometimes we may over-estimate them and treat them like bigger children.

But no matter what many may think, you should still buy a toy that fits in the age range of a toddler. If you buy a toy that isnt, there is a large possibility that the child wont like it. Also, try not to buy toys with detachable parts because the child might swallow it.

Tip number two is to choose something that will help the child build abilities or skills that aid them, when they grow up, in their academics. Remember that a child will be at his or her best when he or she is open to letters, numbers and sounds at a young age.

So that the child will be interested, you can look for blocks, books, flashcards or puzzles with bright colors. Some toys can even talk to children. These kind of toys are a big help to the children.

The third tip is to make sure that the child as well as the parent will like it. Look for something like a book. You can easily spot toddler books because they are usually made from cardboard and are colorful.

Some books have sounds and they recite nursery rhymes. Some have pop-ups and fur for the kids to touch. It is better for parents to read to their child, to show the child that learning is very much important.

Fourth is not to be carried away. Remember that giving the biggest and best gift isnt the most important part of a present. Choose something that wont empty your pockets but will still fill the happiness of the child. Give a gift that will help them in learning at the same time be enjoyable.

The last tip is to always be creative. When you shop for the toy, think of something original yet not too weird.

In short, when you are choosing a gift in a toy store, remember that the toy you are about to give should be creative and interesting. Remember that it should fit the age of the child. Just dont forget to wrap the gift, and dont give it bare to the toddler!

When Educational Toys Come To the Rescue

By MARK EASTERDAY

That is where educational toys may come to the rescue for your child. When used with a youngster who hasnt completely lost hope in themselves, educational toys can help a child to gain confidence in their abilities. Educational toys and materials provide children with alternative ways to learn, by presenting material in various ways. Toys offer children a hands-on experience they may not receive at school and allow parents to work one-on-one with their child in a relaxed and personal setting. Some toys present information through touch, sight, and even sound at the same time, allowing children to gain information through their preferred method of learning.

A colorful abacus may help a child struggling with math and numbers. An abacus gives a student a concrete way to look at adding and subtracting numbers and may help the child better understand math concepts. Wooden blocks with colors, letters and numbers assist preschool children in learning basic academic skills in a fun way, while puzzles may help to develop and define motor skills. Books with colorful pictures and fun stories encourage a love of learning and reading for all ages. The benefits of parents reading to their child and with their child are undeniable.

Educational toys are also a way for kids to discover their strengths. Schools expect kids to be good at numerous subjects and topics, which is impossible for most children. Somebody who excels in math may not do well in English, while someone who cant spell without a dictionary could be a scientist extraordinaire. Giving children a wealth of educational toys, from story books to science lab kits, can help pique their interests in various subjects, find their strengths, and help them feel good about their abilities.

The overall effect will not only be to build their confidence, but also to motivate them to try their best in all areas. Giving a child self-confidence in one area may help to offset their feelings of failure in another area. Of course, educational toys are not the answer to every academic or behavioral problem that a child may face. But they are tools parents can use to help their child leap down the path of success.

Mark Easterday is the Director of Marketing for Educational Toys & Puzzles. Educational Toys & Puzzles carries a complete line of educational toys that promote skills in children. For more information about Educational Toys & Puzzles please visit www.educationaltoysandpuzzles.com .

The Best Educational Toys For Toddlers

By Amy Nutt

Toys that feature a lot of turning buttons and items will help to develop motor skills and co-ordination. Toddlers and infants especially love the toys that make noise. Also, toys that feature keyboards or noise-making buttons can help your child to associate actions with obtainable and fun sounds. A basic ability for sound recognition is usually developed in this manner.

Its important to realize that there are age-specific toys for every level of childhood, because children grow through various stages of their development. Educational toys must stimulate the childs imagination during play to be effective, and these toys must match their learning ability. Interactive toys are some of the best educational and fun toys for a child. They usually stimulate and entertain the child so that they can learn while having fun.

Any activity that involves pulling or pushing something is also a favorite activity, followed next by filling and emptying anything. Toddlers are curious and have to touch and look at everything in their world. Action toys, cause and effect toys and any activity that challenges their minds are always favorites. Stacking blocks, simple puzzles and any toys that pop up are also high on the list of fun and educational toys.

Shape sorters, which are colorful and interesting, can keep a child entertained for hours. Bath toys are also colorful toys that are a great way for your child to have fun and learn in an unlikely spot. Interesting bath toys that bob and float and make noise are wonderful playmates in the bathtub! Some great bath toys include the traditional rubber ducky, foam letters and numbers, and the more sophisticated bath play areas that are educational and fun additions to any childs bath time.

Older toddlers can have fun with colorful fridge magnets, books that feature sounds and songs and other interactive toys. Any sorts of fanciful play sets, such as garages, airports and dollhouses, can also be popular and educational ways for your child to learn about the world around them. Toys that feature clay modeling, chalkboards or anything that the child can write on will help to give the older toddler an outlet for expression.

Learning with Child Educational Toy is Now More Fun

By Len Jacob

Toys at Different Stage

A child educational toy should be brightly colorful and have the ability to entice and draw the attention of a child. Red, white and black are the first noticeable colors in the eyes of infants. The eye-catching hues help the child to get drawn towards the toys and get a hold of it. The various aspects of the child educational toys stimulate the sensory organs and stir interest amongst the infants who can hardly understand anything.

The infancy stager of a child is characterized by inquisitiveness. But once they grow up they can solve their queries by asking many questions. With the passing of years, the maturation of their body parts contributes a lot to the development of the motor skills. The varied types of toys like the building blocks, puzzles, stuffed toys, reading and coloring books, arts and crafts material helps a lot to boost a childs imagination capability and creativity.

When a child steps into a school, he or she is open to a lot of obscure faces. Gradually the child learns to interact and play with his or her classmates and teachers. When the child grows a little the surrounding atmosphere becomes very amicable and a lot more casual. At this stage the various child educational toys are useful and enable them to enhance their educational skills. Games like balls, skipping ropes, board games and playing cards hone their skills and teach them a lot.

About Educational Toys

Good bonding with your child is very essential as it can drive away their shyness and aid them to win their fears. Nowadays most of the parents are working and can hardly squeeze out time for their children. Therefore, they try to compensate their prolonged absence by gifting toys. Hence the demand for educational toys has escalated in the recent years. The manufacturers have taken great pain and labor in researching and understanding the childs psychology and creating toys that will accomplish their demands.

A few examples of childs educational toys incorporate math basics, geography and variety of games that enhance the analytical skills, kids spelling and many more. In the recent years demand of the educational toys has amplified because children now prefer those toys with which they can actively interact than the usual stuffed toys.

Play is not merely a passing of time but plays a pivotal role in improving a childs emotional and learning capability. Playing enables to widen a childs capacity and maximize his potentiality. Remember that different child have different development pace and hence should be tackled differently. Do not force your thoughts on your child. A child may love to play with the same toy day after day. But another child may quickly lose interest in a particular toy after some time. You should understand this difference and meet their demands accordingly.

Once equipped with a child educational toy, your child is open to a myriad of activities, which makes the game more interesting. Hasbrows Baby Einstein Company is recently creating waves in this arena. Besides, playing with the toys encourage the children to learn music, art, language and poetry.

To name a few interesting toys the Leapfrogs Fridge Phonics Magnetic Letter Set, the Fisher Prices Laugh and Learn Home and Leapfrog LeapStart learning Table are very educative and lots of entertaining.

Hence, there is a variety of choice for your child but you should buy something, which is quite apt for your child.

Educational Toys

By Jakob Culver

It is important that the toys maintain a fun level. If the child is enjoying the toy, they will not see that they are being taught something, and it will still allow your child to have creative urges.

Toys that aid in the development of knowledge, but encourage playing are the considered the best. These toys can help improve basic skills which is very important in your childs development. Dont bother with toys that are complicated, but look into toys that have skill levels so that the toy will grow with the child.

Educational toys should match your childs learning style. There are many ways a person can learn. Some people are visual learners while others learn through sound. It is important to find how your child interacts with these toys what the child is most responsive to.

Be sure that whatever you may pick, that your child will actually want to play with the toy. There are many options out there as far as educational toys go. There are even educational videos, that play music and have demonstrations that will ask the child questions so that the child will participate and also learn something. If your child can learn something and have fun, isnt that the most important thing to you?

The Importance of Educational Toys

By Anne Farrill

Educational toys are an absolute must for children. They learn through play from the time they are a few months old. The wider the range of play, the more experiences they come in contact with, the more they learn. Children begin learning when they see shapes, colors and movement and hear sounds. They progress to identification of numbers, letters and stimuli in their environment. When they learn the basics early it prepares them for their future in school and in life.

Educational toys not only start the learning process but are a valuable tool throughout any child's formative years. They should start very simple and progress to higher levels of difficulty.
I found in my years of teaching that children are more willing and it is easier for them to learn with the use of educational toys. They are no substitute for a parent's time spent with the child but can be used as a supplement give busy moms a little more time.

I learned a lot about using educational toys when I taught Special Education classes for grades K-5 for 10 years. Teaching these very special children was a challenge, they taught me as much as I taught them. Educational toys for all ages can be found at http://www.bfarrillbargains.com

Educational Toys, Video Games and Enron

By Ted Moryto

I was watching CBS 60 Minutes and they had an article on Echo Boomers. A prominent professor and pediatrician was told by a fortune 500 executive that the thing that struck him most about the new generation coming into the workforce, was their lack of long term vision. He said that they treated business like a video game, where if they didn't see instant results, then it wasn't of interest. He also commented that today's young employees cannot proceed in a step wise fashion, cannot accomplish a task in a methodical way. As a retailer of educational toys I immediately drew a connection. The pediatrician noted that the echo boomers had been coddled by their parents, driven to soccer practice, provided with trophies for participating. He had observed that when left to play by themselves without adult organization, they were often lost.

I couldn't help but think of the Enron scandal, where earnings were fabricated to meet the expectations of the market. I know those involved in Enron are of an earlier generation, but are we teaching similar behaviour through video games.

Educational toys have always been a mainstay of my children's fun and games. We often use science kits and science toys as fun activities on a rainy day. My children are still impulsive, but they are also prepared to make sacrifices for something that excites them.
Educational toys may not be the solution to all the world's problems but I think they are a good place to start.

Educational Toys That Encourage Learning

By Low Jeremy

There are many kinds of children's educational toys, each specializing in a certain subject matter (like Math or Science) and working according to a particular age group. Because of the growing demand for educational toys, toy manufacturers have taken great effort and time to come up with new innovations almost every month.

Before, finding the right educational toy was so easy, because there were so few of them. Now, choosing which one to get for your child is similar to the experience of a kid lost in Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory.

Perhaps the most popular of children's educational toys are those that deal with science. Children that hope to become chemists, geologists and doctors someday can now get themselves toy kits that simulate the experience. Future astronomers can get to practice their "profession" with telescope kits. Future vets are able to learn more about animals and how to care for them with animal kits.

There is a wide range of play sets and devices to tickle a child's hunger for exploration and discovery, which include the likes of microscopes, dioramas, binoculars, chemisty sets, insect and bug habitats, robotic sets, electronic devices, and others.

Whenever we say the term "educational" and partner it with "toys", it almost always has this boring ring to it. Without adequate knowledge about the value of educational toys, a lot of us would think that these products are just a waste of money because kids won't be able to appreciate them, and say it's for nerds.

This is where we are wrong. Educational toys foster learning AND cater to a child's creativity. These toys are so well designed and carefully developed that they insert "learning" into the picture without the child realizing that he or she is actually "studying". This doesn't mean, though, that educational toys are out to dupe kids into studying. It simply means that toys do not only stimulate kids' senses and motor skills, but also have the capacity to feed their intellects.

With the birth of educational toys, learning has transformed into an activity that is fun, and not just confined to the four corners of a classroom. Schools have started to incorporate educational toys to their teaching methods, especially to preschoolers, because of this.

With educational toys, not only children, but also parents, are changing their minds about the importance of toys as educational tools. Sure, they may come with a hefty price tag, but the expense is all worth it. Besides, the growing demand for them will surely bring their rates down in a few years. Before we know it, educational toys will be accessible to everyone.

Educational Toys are No Longer The Wooden Blocks That I Remember

By Antony Wilton

The closest thing that I recall as an educational toy of my own was a set of wooden blocks and a matching hammer!

Today, there are quality, educational toys that define motor skills, expand maths development, as well as enhancing creativity.

You can start your baby off on the right foot with great educational baby toys. These are now safe, educational, environmentally aware toys and accessories, including musical instruments, science and nature items and much more.

Parents know that if the educational toys or baby toys are not appealing they will likely just sit on a shelf, so they are created to grab the imagination of the child immediately. These toys provide an educational experience while still generating fun and excitement for your baby.

Finding high quality educational toys that stimulate development and are fun to play with is vitally important. Parents these days are keen to inspire the natural latent wonder and genius that is hopefully evident in their children. LeapFrog is committed to developing the highest quality educational toys.

The year's top educational toys use arcade-style games, music, drawing and even characters from favorite children's TV shows to integrate learning and fun. The Leapster Multimedia Learning System from Leap Frog is an excellent example, and among the finalists for toy of the year. Out of all the electronic learning systems available in the market today, this one ranks pretty high up in the list. Its easy to use, very educational, with touch screen and backlit display enhancing its value.

Children can play, read, draw, and watch interactive videos. Learning games are available in your child's favorite cartoon character including Dora and Spongebob. Electronic storybooks can be read, and the Draw feature encourages budding young artists to exercise their creativity.

So its no longer a case of buying the biggest most colorful toy. Instead, look for those with a high-educational value that stimulate creativity and learning, and most importantly make learning fun!

Author Antony Wilton hosts a popular toy site at http://www.bestbuysite.com and regularly reviews new and innovative toys
